Within the Transportation Cabinet, the Transportation Operations Center (TOC) media room serves as a multifunctional emergency management meeting room. This room is mainly used by Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS), Kentucky State Police, Ky Vehicle Enforcement, FBI, ATF, Ky National Guard and partners with Emergency Operations Center (EOS) during emergency crisis for possible news briefing and emergency incidents that may occur in Kentucky and is broadcasted on various news channels.

This room has the capabilities of connecting with the different
agencies through the video conferencing system, one which is used only
at the discretion of the Governor. This fully equipped room has a speaker phone
system for conference calls, overhead projection screen, white board wall,
lectern and table laptops, media pc, dvd/vcr, and the exclusive use of privacy
walls. The media room can also be used for non-emergency meetings which are
scheduled through the Division of Transportation Security on a first-come,
first serve basis.
The Division of Transportation Security conducts tours of the TOC and the media room with various organizations such as schools, providing an educational perspective highlighting the importance of computer and communication technologies. The division also receives requests from out-of-state agencies inquiring about touring the TOC and media room to learn about the daily operations within our state.
